Material and making.
The frame is made from Italian acetate, a material coloured throughout so it has a depth that surface-dyed plastic cannot match. With wear, the acetate temples settle subtly to the shape of your head; over the first few days, the frame can feel more natural while the front keeps its intended form. Every piece is hand-milled and given a satin finish.
Construction and craft
The hinge is where inexpensive frames tend to fail first. KONESER uses a seven-barrel screw hinge that distributes resistance across seven points instead of three, providing smooth movement and lasting durability through years of daily folding. An integrated metal core keeps the frame's shape stable regardless of temperature and time.
Finish and detail
We refine the surfaces and edges, then inspect symmetry, hinge movement and the points where the frame meets the skin.
